Somersault 2014

Thursday 17th to Sunday 20th July 2014
Castle Hill, Barnstaple, Devon, EX32 0RH, England MAP
from £99.50, or £45 a day

Amadou & Mariam, Fink, Bombino, Crowns, Neil Halstead, Nick Mulvey, Half Moon Run, Sierra Leone's Refugee All Stars, Catfish & The Bottlemen, and Hiss Golden Messenger are the latest acts confirmed for the new Somersault Festival - a 'summercamp of music, adventure, and outdoor living' takes place at Castle Hill in Barnstaple, North Devon from Thursday 17th until Monday 21st July 2014.

Saturday's headliner is Jack Johnson, and Sunday it's the turn of Ben Howard.

Somersault bills itself as not just another music festival.  Organisers plan to offer every ounce of what a summer holiday was once about, from under-canvas encampments of crafts & workshops, and culture to circus shows and theatre, to fun-fuelled campfire feasts, field kitchens with the best new chefs, midnight parties, and fireside festivities by night.

There are still more acts to be announced for both days. For the line-up details, and day splits, as available click here.

Tickets are priced from £99.50 for the long weekend, to  £45 for a day ticket. A car parking pass is priced at £10 and a campervan pass at £30 for the weekend, or £20 for an overnight stay.

Campers can enjoy surf trips to nearby Woolacombe, as well as trying their hands at handplaning, coasteering, wind surfing, kite surfing, sailing, canoeing and paddleboarding.

Back on dry land, activities include horse riding, trekking, moor running and mountain biking on nearby Exmoor, plus falconry, archery, yoga, photography, circus skills and more.

Somersault Festival’s nominated charity is Surfers Against Sewage - an environmental charity protecting the UK’s oceans, waves and beaches for all to enjoy safely and sustainably, via community action, campaigning, volunteering, conservation, education and scientific research.
