Tinie Tempah to headline Leicester Music Festival

with Kool & the Gang also announced

Tinie Tempah, and Kool & the Gang are the latest acts to be confirmed for the inaugural Leicester Music Festival (LMF) taking place on Friday 25th and Saturday 26th July 2014 at the Welford Road Stadium, home of the Leicester Tigers.

Tinie Tempah has today been announced as the headline act on Friday with Kool and the Gang joining Saturday's line up.

Shane Whitfield co-founder of the Leicester Music Festival (LMF) said, "We are extremely excited about our line-up as Tinie Tempah and Kool and the Gang join the other incredible acts we have performing. We've already had overwhelming feedback from the local community about LMF and we're sure we won't disappoint with this latest news."

Friday’s line-up comprises of Professor Green, Katy B, Billy Ocean, Aswad and Soul II Soul featuring Jazzie B. Joining them on Saturday, is Labrinth, Union J, The Saturdays. The Real Thing, Stereo Nation, plus an exclusive performance from X-factor winner Sam Bailey as she gives her only planned Leicester performance of the year. , and Diversity are confirmed for both days. There is one more act still to be announced.

Manoj Keshavji co-founder of the Leicester Music Festival said: “Our aim was for LMF to put Leicester on the map for music and with this line up we think we’ve hit the right note. The people of Leicester are tired of having to the leave the city to watch big acts perform, so this summer we’re bringing an eclectic mix of artists spanning years of stardom and complimentary genres which the whole family can enjoy.”

Tickets are priced at £81 for both days standing, or £45 per day plus booking fee.

Joining the acts will be four local bands who have won the right to share the stage with LMF A-listers which saw more than 100 bands from across the region enter. Finalists will go head to head at a live final on Saturday 7th June at Streetlife.
