Glastonbury Festival have revealed that James Murphy (LCD Soundsystem/DFA) and David & Stephen Dewaele (Soulwax/2manydjs) aka Despacio are to be given their own tent in the Silver Hayes Dance Village for the entire weekend, "where they will deliver marathon sets each night."

The Festival announced the news (here), stating, "We’re very pleased to announce that James Murphy (LCD Soundsystem/DFA) and David & Stephen Dewaele (Soulwax/2manydjs) are bringing their incredible Despacio soundsystem to the Silver Hayes area at Glastonbury 2014. Their mighty celebration of sound is being given its very own tent for the entire weekend, where they will deliver marathon sets each night.

It has been a few years since they’ve all been at Glastonbury and they are returning in massive style, bringing with them a unique sonic experience like no other."

There will be 3 non-stop 7-hour sessions during the festival in their exclusively designed space, which is currently being showcased this weekend at Spain's Sonar festival where it has a maximum capacity of 1,200 people.

James, David & Stephen Dewale will be behind the decks, located in a dark and obscured background, and due to the capacity limitations of the space, access will be managed on a first-come, first-served basis.

DESPACIO: Powered by McIntosh is a one-of-a-kind sound system created by LCD Soundsystem frontman James Murphy and New York sound engineer John Klett of Tech Mecca.

They announced it for Barcelona as, "A statement intended to preserve, promote and celebrate the tradition of pure live music performances. The focus is on the partygoers experience instead of the stage spectacle that has become so commonplace in music today."

The sound system consists of a floor-standing series of seven giant, 11-foot stacks arranged in a circle allowing the crowd to fully immerse themselves in the music. The setup is quite simple considering the 50,000 watts of power behind the system.

There's a good article about Despacio in The Quietus, (here).
