While many of the smaller stages have a full programme it's Glastonbury Festival's own homegrown entertainment that attracted the crowds..

Festival goers finally got to see Shangri-La's new venues with a corporate hell theme, and a new show by Mutoid Waste Company, entitled ‘A Kiss on the Apocalypse’ which mixed giant birds, mutant vehicles, and fire.

Earlier in the day both the dance village and the Avalon field were busy, the latter seeing Festival organiser Michael Elvis singing 'This Could Be The Last Time' to a packed Avalon Cafe with The Vodka Jellies.

The clearest indication of just how much was happening on site, was the Cider Bus bar, which was fairly deserted in front but very well stocked with bar staff.

Today sees the main stages programme start and the Festival hit full stride, with Kaiser Chiefs starting proceedings on the Other Stage.
