The Arcadia spider has left BoomTown Fair after three years and will not be coming back. Organisers thought that after 3 years it was time to try out a new spectacular stage. But they will not be revealing what will be taking it's place, just yet.
The Arcadia Spider has been a permanent fixture of the completely independent BoomTown since 2012 where it fitted into its surroundings in the Mad Max style dystopian DownTown district of the festival. Organisers have however made the decision to go in a different direction next year.
Chapter Seven of the immersive, theatrical and artistic festival with an on going narrative for around 45,000 festivalgoers takes place at Matterley Estate, nr. Winchester, in Hampshire and will run from Thursday 13th until Sunday 16th August 2015.
A statement from BoomTown says, "Both crews have a huge thirst for constantly pushing the boundaries of what is expected and to reach new heights in production levels.
"One of the most important things for us at BoomTown is to keep producing the unexpected to our festival goers and we are constantly on the lookout for new and ridiculous ways to approach the overall festival experience.
"We’ve had the most amazing journey with our good friends Arcadia and will look back with a massive amount of happiness at what we collectively accomplished but we are both ready to move on and discover new adventures and conjure up the next generation of crazy ideas!!
"We’ve got some insanely ambitious plans in the pipeline for 2015 and are teaming up with top set designers from overseas to see just how far we can push things! Watch this space it’s going to get pretty exciting…!"
Each year BoomTown tells an ongoing storyline that develops year on year! 2015 will see the tales of Chapter 7 unfold with the first hint at what’s in store will be announced early next week (w/c 1st Dec) when festival goers will discover what happened to the Mayoress who was captured at the end of this year's festival.
The first line-up announcement is expected in January.

Arcadia are currently in Bangkok but have just announced, (here), what they're planning in the UK for 2015:
"We’ll be kicking things off back home at the mighty Glastonbury - whipping together new performance and technological elements to ramp up the spectacle.
"We will also be launching a whole new Arcadia event in Bristol next season – something we are incredibly excited about. It will be our only UK event apart from Glastonbury, and Arcadia’s entire creative, performance, technological, and mechanical arsenal will be unleashed at full throttle.
"Arcadia won’t be at BoomTown in 2015. It's been an epic 3 years and both of our collectives are keen to evolve and continue pushing creative boundaries. Huge love and respect to everyone at BoomTown.
"Keep it locked for more info, we’ll shortly be announcing a wave of new developments, fresh evolutions, and opening a whole new chapter of the show.
"2015 is shaping up to be a seminal year xxx"
