Loyd Grossman and his band The New Forbidden return for the third time to Cornbury Music Festival as part of the line-up for this year's Riverside Stage.
The American-British television presenter, and gastronome said, "It's hard not to like Cornbury. An eclectic and exciting line up, a beautiful setting and terrific catering make it one of the UK's most stimulating and enjoyable festivals."
They are just one act on this year's line-up for The Riverside Stage which is run by the team behind Oxfordshire’s popular Riverside Festival in nearby Charlbury.
The Jacques top the bill of local talent on the first night of the festival which includes The Turning, The Fireflies, Sheena, Dance a la Plage, Brightworks, and Larry Reddington.
Twelve years ago King B were picked to open the very first Cornbury Music Festival. Now they’re back to headline the Riverside Stage on Saturday with support from Sam Taylor, Loyd Grossman and his band The New Forbidden, Alphabet Backwards, Zurich, Hope & Glory, Eyes for Gertrude, Debbie Bond, Satsangi, Leader, and Fourth Time Lucky.
Oxford’s The Original Rabbit Foot Spasm Band close the festival on Sunday after live sets from The Brickwork Lizards, The Standard, Dreaming Spires, The Wonder Beers, ToLiesel, Les Clochards, Slainte, and Taylor Made Truth.
The main stage line-up is topped by Tom Jones, Supertramp founder, singer-songwriter Roger Hodgson, and Razorlight, plus there will be music from The Fratellis, Chas & Dave, Blue, Martha Reeves and The Vandellas, Billy Ocean, Lulu, Scott Bradlee's Postmodern Jukebox, Jack Savoretti, The Felice Brothers, John Cooper Clarke, Larkin Poe, Paper Aeroplanes, Hank Wangford & The Lost Cowboys, The Shires, Ward Thomas, Joanne Shaw Taylor, The James Hunter Six, Moulettes, Only The Young, Staxs, Horns of Plenty, C.C. Smugglers, Police Dog Hogan, Head North, Joel Rafael, Slim Chance, Rothwell, The Harbour, Chastity Brown, Jess and The Bandits, Chipping Norton School Band, and Fishwives Choir.
In addition to the music, expect the festival to offer a variety of attractions including a fairground, many morris dance pageants, children's theatre workshops, theatre workshops, arts and crafts, speciality shops, novelty acts and posh catering offering everything from champagne and cappuccinos to real ale.
