Lakefest moves to Eastnor Castle for 2016

Lakefest, returns for a 5th year next summer, but it will be held at a new location Eastnor Castle, the former site of The Big Chill Festival, from Thursday 11th to Sunday 14th August 2016.

With development set to happen on the festival's familiar home site at Croft Farm Waterpark, near Tewkesbury. The festival moves this year to a larger site in order to accommodate larger crowd numbers. In addition to this, Croft Farm Land Owner, Alan Newell, is developing a holiday village, in the field in which Lakefest is currently held.

The plan is to return to Croft Farm Waterpark in 2017 with a new smaller summer festival, held on a different date to that of Lakefest taking place at Eastnor Castle.

Lee Martin, Lakefest Director said, "We are delighted to be able to share this exciting news with you. We have some amazing memories of the past four years here at Croft Farm Waterpark, but the festival has evolved and we now need to expand to a much larger location. We are so grateful to have such loyal attendees, who have been with us since day one, and although we are on the move, the team of directors will remain in place; still delivering their same passion for music and bringing you a family-friendly festival to remember.

"This year has been a staggering success for us and we couldn't be happier. We consider you all royalty and so where better than a move to the grounds of a castle – complete with lakes! Less than a twenty-minute drive away from our current location, Eastnor will provide the perfect setting for years to come."

Organisers would like to emphasise that Lakefest will still be Lakefest. The move is in no way an attempt to replicate The Big Chill Festival, it will be the usual Lakefest event but on a larger scale. Big Chill was held at Eastnor Castle from 2002 until 2011.

There are no acts confirmed yet for 2016, and ticket prices have not yet been announced and are not yet on sale.
