Mastodon will make their first visit to Bloodstock Open Air in 2016. Next year's event taking place from Thursday 11th until Sunday 14th August 2016 again at Catton Hall, Walton-on-Trent, in South Derbyshire has already confirmed the first few acts joining them.

American bassist/singer Troy Sanders said, "Since day one, nobody has embraced Mastodon better than the UK has. Thank you for inviting us to our first festival headlining slot at Bloodstock 2016! We will not disappoint."

They will be joined on the bill by Friday special guests Behemoth playing their album, 'The Satanist' in full, and Venom plus many more yet to be announced.

As well as the international heavy metal bands across four stages, Bloodstock will offer a large selection of merchandise stalls, metal karaoke, a campsite and a wide selection of food and bars.

Early bird tickets are priced at £120 for adults with camping (+ booking fees), and car parking is priced at £16, child (aged 4 - 11 years) tickets are priced at £35. Campervan pitches are also already on sale priced at £55, parking is £16, day tickets and VIP options are expected to be on sale at a later date.
