The World Music Village, in association with Arms Around The Child, an international charity based in Portsmouth has announced their line-up at Victorious Festival which takes place on Saturday 27th and Sunday 28th August (bank holiday weekend) at Portsmouth's Southsea Common.
Arms Around The Child champion the rights of orphaned children by creating campaigns, providing safe and loving homes, as well as funding health care and education. The charity has a history of being involved with exciting events including The Black Ball with Alicia Keys, The Other Ball with Mark Ronson which took place in New York and London and now Victorious Festival's World Music Village. The brand new area for 2016 will host Neneh Cherry (DJ Set), Natty, Liam Bailey, Eva Lazarus, Josh Osho, a Bhangra Party featuring Juggy D and Bollywood dancers, Latin dance workshops, Steel Pan Jazz Orchestra, Kasai Masai, The Urban Voodoo Machine, Bongo Kanny, JJ Soul X, and RU1FAM featuring Subajah.
They join Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds, Manic Street Preachers, Mark Ronson, Levellers, Ash, The Coral, Travis, Editors, Boomtown Rats, The Horrors, Will Young, Wolfmother, Milky Chance, Pretty Vicious, Rat Boy, Raleigh Ritchie, Izzy Bizu, Sound of the Sirens, Rocky Nti, Lauren Aquilina, JP Cooper, Dagny, Samm Henshaw, Jack Savoretti, Space, Echo and the Bunnymen, Will Young, The Selecter, and Emmy the Great. There are many more acts to be announced with more than 100 local acts expected to perform once again on the festival’s seaside stage with views of the Solent.

The World Music Village will also host the People's Lounge, a space for collaboration, imagination and the open exchange of ideas to flourish. This creative and alternative enclave will display and celebrate Portsmouth's diverse local talent. For those who want to chill, hang out and experience something new, this is the perfect spot.again on the festival’s seaside stage with views of the Solent
There will also be the World Music Village flea market where there will be an array of goods to purchase. Plus Henna, hair braiding and accessories, cuisine from around the world including Brazilian crepes, Jamaican jerk chicken, pure coconut juice, patties and much more.
As ever, all the activities in the Kid’s Arena are totally free and Victorious tickets will also allow you access to Southsea Castle, The Blue Reef Aquarium, The D Day Museum and Southsea Skate Park.
Tickets are priced at £30 per day for adults, £7 kids aged 5-15 years, and £1 for children aged under 5 years.
