The line-up has been announced for the second stage at Always The Sun, the family festival in Stoke Park, Guildford in Surrey with the dates confirmed as Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th September 2016.
Acts already confirmed for the main Stage are Mystery Jets, Turin Brakes, Hugh Cornwell, Dub Pistols, The Allergies, Spring King, The Big Moon, Kagoule, Hannah Lou Clark, October Drift, The Amazons, Tusks, Big Zero, Big Bug, and Sports Team.
The Boileroom, Guildford's longstanding independent vibrant community hub celebrates it’s 10th birthday this year by hosting the festival with DJ Palf, Eddie Piller, DJ Nadine, Palm Honey, New Street Adventure, Sonic Keys, Sulky Boy, Birdsworth, Son Joan, Neil Barker, Burnz, itoldyouiwouldeatyou, Vinyl Staircase, Parachute For Gordo, Atiptoe, Nine Miles South, Midfield Workhorse, Swift Arvel, Darko, FlashFires, The Wonder Beers, Sophie and the Giants, Geistfight, Sour Kix, Brightlight City, The Keep Cats, and Get Rocking Band now confirmed for Andertons Stage.
The two-day independent festival of arts, features live music, a DIY Stage, comedy, spoken word, outdoor kitchen, circus skills, theatre and wellbeing as well as interactive creative workshops for all ages, locally crafted food and drink.
An adult weekend camping ticket is priced at £40, a young person (aged 11-17 years old) weekend ticket is priced at £20. Tickets for Saturday or Sunday are priced at £20. Children aged 10 years or younger at the time of the festival are admitted free accompanied by an adult with a valid ticket.
Local tastemakers GU1 Punx, Rose Coloured, This Is Not Revolution Rock, ModernisM, Lockjaw Records, Odyxxey, MR Events Group, Odyxxey, Quatre Femmes Records, and Massive Promotions will be curating the second stage. Plus Get Rocking, Play Live, The Project will be showcasing acts that have come through their courses and live showcases to open up the stage each day. Sponsored by fellow Independent music company Anderton’s Music Store; will hold the Exchange market within the Second Stage: exchanging schools of thought, zines, and chatting records at our market of independent record labels, zines and artist stalls.
Discussion group What Is Your Activism will also be setting up shop focusing on art, craft and discussion workshops centred around personal politics and activism.
Dedicated stages for theatre and the arts will be represented through collaboration with the area’s leading theatre and arts companies. As part of the Together We Make More campaign we will be celebrating Guildford’s vibrant and historic art scene.
Both days will be packed with amazing experiences including a Wellness Tent hosting Yoga workshops, dancing taster sessions and healthy living talks all from local practitioners. A craft tent with a packed line up of creative workshops including yarnbombing, weaving and tie dyeing.
There will be a fine selection of food vendors selling a variety of culinary experiences to whet the most prolific of appetites.
