Tickets are already on sale for next year's Splendour, Nottingham's annual family friendly music festival, which returns for its 10th year to Wollaton Park on Saturday 22nd July 2017.
Set in the stunning grounds of Wollaton Hall, the festival has grown to become one of the region's biggest music events, attracting over 20,000 people of all ages. Recognised as the city's biggest summer day out, this year's sell-out event marked the biggest ever Splendour in its nine year history. Even with an additional 3,000 tickets on sale to meet the exceptional demand, ticket sales surpassed all previous years and sold out three days before event day.
Owner and festival booker George Akins, DHP Family, said: "We’re proud to have once again staged a hugely successful Splendour. The months of careful planning by DHP Family and Nottingham City Council paid off to make it an enjoyable experience on the day for everyone involved from the artists backstage to all the people who came to enjoy the music, comedy, food and fringe acts. Now we can’t wait to get started on putting together an amazing line up for next year’s big 10th birthday"
Councillor Dave Trimble, Portfolio Holder for Leisure and Culture, added, "This year's Splendour festival has been a fantastic success. Over 20,000 people have enjoyed amazing performances from Jess Glynne, The Human League, UB40 and all the other acts. I'd like to give my thanks to the City Council’s Events team who have worked so hard to set up and run this event in Wollaton Park along with our partner DHP Family. Nottingham has a great reputation for its music scene and Splendour festival showcases that talent.
"Tickets for Splendour in 2017 are going on sale now so if you missed out on tickets this year, make sure you snap them up early for 2017!"
