The Stranglers have been announced as the Friday night headliners for the FREE Godiva Festival, which attracts over 100,000 people from Friday 1st until Sunday 3rd July 2016 at War Memorial Park, Coventry.

Cllr Abdul Khan, Cabinet Member for Events, said: "I’m confident this year will be another great year for Godiva Festival and will emphasise the fact that Coventry is a place where fantastic events are happening, which helps promote the city, brings people together and generates visits to the city over the weekend."

The only other acts announced so far are Sunday headliners The Darkness. Many more acts will be confirmed over the coming weeks, including the Saturday headliner and acts for the Rock Tent.

Godiva is a free and ticketless event - just turn up on the day. Godiva will be covering music to suit all tastes and featuring the ever-popular Godiva Unsigned, showcasing fresh, local talent.

There's something for everybody to enjoy, from the comedy tent to the family field, vintage market and charity village, greenspace tent, kids tent and funfair, all alongside a host of community stalls.
