The first 50 acts have been announced for FOCUS Wales, the music festival and conference takes place in various venues in the town centre of Wrexham, in North Wales from Thursday 10th until Saturday 12th May 2018 offering music, comedy and interactive happenings..
leading the names are mercury nominated folk singer Kate Rusby, psych-popster Jane Weaver, 9Bach who will open the festival with with a concert at the new Ty Pawb venue in Wrexham, Damo Suzuki ex of Can, along with Gallops, John Lawrence (ex Gorky's), Lizzy Farrall, Castles, Mammoth Weed Wizard Bastard, and hot-tipped Canadians Partner.
There's also Alffa, Andy Hickie, Art School Girlfriend, Bogans, Campfire Social, Cara Hammond, Colonel Mustard and Dijon Five, Craze The Jack, Creature of Habit, Daithi, Danielle Lewis, Danny Gruff, Darren Eedens & the Slim Pickin's, Darren Eedens, Evrah Rose, HABITS, Hywel Pitts, J-Bleak, Kela Topan, Letters To Lions, Lucid, Matt Nicholls, MINAS, Misfit, Namsake, Oblong, Our Bryan, Radio Rhydd, Rival Bones, Runic, Seazoo, ShireFunk, Someperson, SpitBucket, Sundance Kid, and Trademark Blud.
Also, at the HWB Cymraeg venue in the town centre on Friday 11th May is Tudur Owen’s Comedy Marathon, a brand new comedy showcase to be held , in association with From the Margins!
FOCUS Wales has become Wales' biggest music industry event, with three days of panels, keynote talks, and industry advice, the festival will see over 200 music industry professional delegates descend upon Wrexham from around the world. First speakers to be announced include: BEV BURTON (CAMBRIDGE FOLK FESTIVAL), CAL MCRAE (VICE), KAPTIN BARRET (BOOMTOWN FAIR), DIJANA LAKUS (GLASTONBURY FESTIVAL), JOE FRANKLAND (PRSF) and GEOFF TRIO (AUSTRALIAN MUSIC WEEK).
Early bird tickets are currently on sale for £35.
