More acts have been revealed for WOMAD - World of Music, Arts and Dance - held at Charlton Park, near Malmesbury, in Wiltshire from Thursday 26th to Sunday 29th July 2018.
On the decks in the Big Red Tent will be returnee Gilles Peterson, and debutante Goldie, while experts in fusing together jazz, hip-hop and breaks The Herbaliser again team up with one of their long-time collaborators, the rapper Rodney P. In the Siam Tent there'll be spoken-word poet and multimedia artist Kojey Radical, while new for the main Open Air Stage is 'unlikely dance music hero' Omar Souleyman.
Other acts announced today are Bcuc (South Africa), House Of Waters (USA/Japan/Argentina), JM y Juanin & Los Crack del Puerto (Chile), Maalem Hamid El Kasri (Morocco), MarthaGunn (UK), Melissa Laveaux (Canada/Haiti), My Baby (Netherlands/New Zealand), Sabry Mosbah, Seramic (UK), Too Many Zooz (USA), Wazimbo (Mozambique), and Yazz Ahmed's Hafla Band (UK/Bahrain).
These join previously announced acts who include Amadou & Mariam, Leftfield performing 'Leftism' live, Mr Jukes, Camille, Django Django, Sharon Shannon, LA DAME BLANCHE, Ken Boothe, Thievery Corporation, Jazzanova Live featuring Paul Randolph, Aeham Ahmad, Afro Cluster, Dobet Gnahore, Electric Fields, Ezra Collective, and many more, with more still to be announced.
