Womad is about bringing the world to Britain, breaking down barriers and making connections, bringing together many forms of music, arts and dance from countries and cultures around the world on seven separate stage and workshop areas. WOMAD 2018 featured over 200 performances by around 150 artists from over 50 countries.
Along with the music there's the World of Words, World of Art, World of Children, World of Wellbeing, and Taste the World, exhibitions, installations, talks, debates, science, poetry, art, food, pampering and activities for the whole family.
Chris Smith, festival director, says "Following on from an incredible weekend at WOMAD Las Palmas, where festival-goers came to party in glorious Gran Canaria, we are very excited to kick off WOMAD, Charlton Park 2019 today with our Early Bird tickets.
