The first wave of acts have been revealed for the 10th edition of Deer Shed Festival 2019, which takes place at Baldersby Park near Topcliffe, North Yorkshire from Friday 20th to Sunday 22nd July, and which will for the first time will remain open to general ticket holders past 6pm on Sunday night.
As Deer Shed's first ever Sunday night headliner they've got the right Ezra, Ezra Furman, while there's a return for Anna Calvi as the Friday night headliner. The Sunday night In The Dock headliner is Akala, while other bands announced today to play across the weekend are Sunflower Bean, Gruff Rhys, BC Camplight, She Drew The Gun, PINS, Charles Watson, Tiny Ruins, Tom Williams, Skinny Pelembe, The Howl & The Hum, Gently Tender, Emily Burns, LUCIA, and Rascalton. There's much more to be announced over the coming months.
Deer Shed Festival director Oliver Jones said: "It was clear to us when we watched Anna Calvi headline our alternative stage in 2016 that her ability to write powerful and poignant rock songs, shred the guitar and command a festival crowd would make her an excellent choice to headline the Deer Shed Main Stage at some point in the future. It's now our belief that Anna Calvi has grown into one of the most exhilarating performers the UK live scene has to offer and, after the release of ‘Hunter' in August, she went straight to the top of our list for 2019."
