Promoting sustainable lifestyles and combining education with entertainment, The Green Gathering is hoping and planning to go ahead for the 10th time at Piercefield Park in Chepstow, Monmouthshire, from Thursday 29th July until Sunday 1st August 2021.
Newly announced for the line-up are Holy Moly & the Crackers, Smiley And The Underclass, Sound of the Sirens, High Shelf Remedy, and Phil Cudworth, who join 3 Daft Monkeys, Ask My Bull, The Balkaneers, The Borgias, Dragonsfly, Edd Donovan, The Embers, The Fabulous Red Diesel, The Fecktones, Feral Pussies, Fossilheads, Foundlings, Funke & the Two Tone Baby, Genn, Greenness, Hands of the Heron, Hannah Scott, Hazel & Grey, Hoopy Frood, Matthew Frederick, Millie Manders & the Shut Up, Mobius Loop, and more. The Green Gathering features solar stages and intimate venues that host over a hundred live acts. There's music, magicians and mystics, spoken word, off grid solutions and co-operatives, crafts, permaculture, campaigns, wellbeing, kids' activities and teens space, a stone circle, open mic, acoustic sessions, yoga and dance workshops, affordable bars and ethical eats.
With regard to covid, The Green Gathering is looking at various scenarios including only open-sided venues with controlled capacity, masks on shuttle buses and for customer-facing crew, a 'covid contract' as part of the T&Cs for people to sign up to (pledging to keep to whatever the guidelines are at that time), plenty of sanitiser points, redesign of the plumbing system to provide dozens of handwash stations, more loos, enhanced cleaning all over site. (and more, all under continual review).
Tickets are on sale, currently priced at £110 for adults, £75 for young adults (16-17), or £55 for youths (11-15). Children aged 6-10 are £10, and children aged 0-5 are free.
A car pass (in hardstanding carpark) is priced at £25, a motorbike pass is £11, and a live-in vehicle pass is priced from £65 (£85 if oversized), or £75 for a car and caravan. A limited number of dog tickets are available at £80 of which £40 is a returnable good behaviour bond.
