Margate Summer Series today reveals its full line-up for a sizzling summer of world-class outdoor shows, taking place from June – September 2023. Undoubtedly its biggest edition to date, the series will take over Dreamland, Margate for 20+ dates, delivering a truly expansive, show-stopping line-up featuring must-see artists including Tom Jones, Queens of the Stone Age, The Streets, Morcheeba, McFly, Kool and the Gang and more, for an unmissable summer by the sea. A true celebration of all things funk and soul, the Funk & Soul Weekender will serve up sounds from a whole host of unmissable talent both emerging and nothing short of legendary, as well as theme park rides, roller disco, disco yoga, dance classes & more. Kool & the Gang, Hot 8 Brass, Craig Charles, David Rodigan, Nubiyan, Norman Jay and more are billed for the huge event. Check out the full line-up here, for the biggest weekend of funk, soul and disco.

Placebo, the inimitable rock duo, join this summer’s line-up. With a string of critically acclaimed albums and single releases racking up millions of sales the world over, Placebo, comprising Brian Molko and Stefan Olsdal, are unapologetic in both sound and style. Having released their eight studio album ‘Never Let Me Go’ in 2022, they come with a firm cult following and now with long-awaited return to the stage, Placebo are not to be missed in Margate this summer.

He’s the multi-platinum selling and award-winning artist, with a truly unforgettable voice - Rag’n’Bone Man will be heading to Dreamland Margate in June. Fans will be treated to powerhouse baritone vocals and a truly unforgettable performance, as he returns with a renewed sense of purpose and an entirely new energy, with singles such as ‘All You Ever Wanted’, ‘Anywhere Away From Here’, ‘Alone’ and ‘Crossfire’.

Queens Of The Stone Age make their massively anticipated return, heading to Dreamland Margate as part of three UK headline shows, the first since 2018’s Villains tour. Fronted by the inimitable Josh Homme, the band has been teasing fans with suggestions of new music of late, so this unmissable sold-out live show at the 2023 Margate Summer Series is sure to be one for the ages.

2023 marks the 10th Anniversary of Bastille’s chart-conquering, twice No.1 debut album, 'Bad Blood’. In celebration, the band will embark on a series of very special ‘Bad Blood X’ one-off shows this summer including a huge open-air headline show for the Margate Summer Series. With anthemic hits including Pompeii, Happier and Run Into Trouble, the chart-toppers continue to innovate and evolve as one of the world’s most-exciting, must-see bands.

McFly also join the spectacular Margate Summer Series line-up. With seven UK number-one singles, six top-ten albums, seven arena tours and ten million records sold worldwide, they are without question one of the most significant British pop acts of the 21st century. With classics ‘All About You’, ‘Five Colours In Her Hair’ and ‘Obviously’, as well as new tracks ‘Happiness’ and ‘Tonight Is The Night’, it’s set to be an unforgettable show on the Margate seafront this summer.

Due to phenomenal demand, international icon Tom Jones is lined up for not one, but two dates on the Margate Summer Series. Captivating audiences with his timeless discography of hit songs and enduring talent and charisma, Tom Jones has seen a remarkable career spanning over six decades, and is widely considered to be one of the greatest singers and recording artists of all time. Having first performed at Dreamland Margate in the 1960s, Tom Jones returns this summer to deliver two truly unforgettable shows.

Scottish rock legends Primal Scream are lined up for 2023’s summer series, with some very special guests in tow, their friends, Happy Mondays. Primal Scream, formed by frontman Bobbie Gillespie, have created their own unique sound breaking down musical boundaries and spanning psychedelic pop to degenerate rock’n’roll; euphoric rave to industrial gloom. They’ll be joined by the band who’ve served timeless hits including Kinky Afro, and Twenty Four Hour Party People, the Happy Mondays have embarked on world tours garnering international acclaim, as well as continued massive success in the UK which remains as potent as ever to this day.

Grime innovator, producer and chart-topping hit maker, Dizzee Rascal will be heading to Dreamland Margate this summer, for a high-energy headline gig. Dizzee Rascal has been responsible for some of the biggest chart-topping hits of a generation. In 2020, he made a huge return, delivering non-stop energy, lyrical prowess and genre-spanning heft with his acclaimed studio album, E3 AF. Dizzee dusted off the bassline rhythms, dubstep wobbles and garage hi-jinks that infused this eleventh album with a nod to his earliest days and now his sights are set on Margate – get your tickets now.

Pop sensation and judge of The Voice UK, Olly Murs will be heading to Dreamland Margate for a one-day spectacular in the height of the UK summer, following the release of his album ‘Marry Me’. He’s a household favourite and one of the UK’s best loved pop singers, with a ton of catchy earworm tracks under his belt, including Dance With Me Tonight, Heart Skips A Beat, and Troublemaker. Olly Murs’ headline show at Margate promises to be one of the highlights of summer 2023, supported by Scouting For Girls. 

Hacienda Classical, formed by DJ Graeme Park, gives a classical spin to the huge anthems which were played at the iconic nightclub. Since it’s very first show in 2016, Hacienda Classical has established itself as a must-see, playing around the UK and far beyond. Dreamland Margate will be treated to glittering orchestral renditions of the much-loved classic club records from those heady, glorious days of the Hacienda that defined a generation, including a very special DJ set from Groove Armada. With a live DJ mix, live vocalists and special guest DJs, it’ll be nothing short of a truly legendary party.

Get ready for a celebration of all things drum n bass, jungle, garage, bassline and more with a line-up of the hottest Drum n Bass Legends of all time. This is set to be a huge all-day, indoor event at Dreamland Margate. Needing no introduction: Goldie, Congo Natty, Dillinja and DJ Hype more will join forces, dropping an unrivalled DJ line-up for this one-day festival dropping the best in drum n bass, jungle, and everything in between.

Birmingham grime legends The Streets also join this year’s bill. Pioneers of UK garage, they are one of the most influential groups in British music culture since bursting onto the scene with seminal album ‘Original Pirate Material’ in 2002. Twenty years on, The Streets remain groundbreaking with captivating hits including Fit But You Know It, Has It Come To This?, Blinded By The Lights, Dry Your Eyes and 2022’s Brexit At Tiffany’s. In September, they’ll be at Dreamland Margate for a mega grime masterclass.

Meanwhile, Morcheeba and Tricky will co-headline in Margate this September as part of the Margate Summer Series. The two acts garnered international acclaim in the 90s, riding an exciting new wave of boundary breaking music which merged hip-hop, soul, electronica and more. Between them, the artists have a loyal global following and over the years, have solidified their legendary status through multiple platinum and gold certified albums, reaching the top 10 in the UK album charts and quite simply, defining the sound of an era.

 

UB40 is the reggae and pop collective responsible for serving up hits including Red Red Wine and Kingston Town. Formed in the 70s, the band has impressively scored 50 singles in the UK charts throughout its expansive career, not to mention enormous success and acclaim on a global scale. From Birmingham, UK, the reggae icons released single We’ll Never Find Another Love this year, along with their latest album ‘Unprecedented’. Their legend continues, as UB40 featuring Ali Campbell remain a show-stopping headline act, coming to Margate in September.

Fans of Two Door Cinema Club will be thrilled to hear that the band will be making waves on Margate shores, as part of this year’s summer series. Announced today, Two Door Cinema Club will be headlining a very special open air show against the backdrop of Dreamland Margate. Making their debut in 2010, the indie rock trio have gone on to establish themselves as mainstays, revered for their glorious live shows which have delighted festival fans the world over. Last year, the band dropped their latest studio album, beautifully titled ‘Keep On Smiling’, smattered with summery goodness. Their stop at Margate this summer is one you won’t want to miss.

Founding member of Wu Tang Clan, GZA has today been unveiled for Margate Summer Series. They’re widely considered as one of the greatest hip-hop groups of all time and this year celebrate the 30th anniversary of seminal 1993 album ‘Enter The Wu (36 Chambers)’, which, now a triple-platinum release, famously delivered some of their biggest hits including Protect Ya Neck and C.R.E.A.M. GZA is crossing the Atlantic this summer to perform all of the Wu Tang Bangers, celebrating the prolific journey and era-defining work of as the most storied group in hip-hop history. Support comes American alt hip hop group all the way from LA, The Pharcyde.

What’s more, SANDS makes a welcome return to Dreamland, presenting headliner Bicep with a DJ set. Bicep is the Belfast duo which has received two BRIT Award nominations and gone on to perform to sold-out shows in London, as well as raising the roof at the world’s biggest festivals including Primavera, Coachella, and Glastonbury. SANDS launched in 2022 brought to you by Soundcrash and Eat Your Own Ears. In a massive one-day event, there’ll be sets from the most hyped artists in dance, electro, techno and house.

Tickets will be on sale soon for a day of fun for the entire family, as Raver Tots makes its Margate Summer Series debut. This is the UK’s biggest family-friendly rave, where kids and grown ups can hit the dance floor and rave the day away together. Expect huge dance spaces, huge production and the best in house, garage and drum’n’bass brought to you by the nation’s biggest DJs.

Based on the sea-front, Dreamland is the perfect location to host the Margate Summer Series with an amazing 7k capacity outdoor stage alongside a wide range of food and drink options.
