The Aldeburgh Festival of Music and the Arts is now in its 68th year.
The event offers a mix of concerts, operas, masterclasses, films and open air performances at different venues in the Aldeburgh/Snape area in Suffolk. The festival runs from Friday 12th to Sunday 28th June 2015.
Line-up
Highlights of 2015 include: World premiere of new chamber opera The Cure by Harrison Birtwistle, performed in a double bill with his 2009 Aldeburgh commission, The Corridor. Plus Multi-Story Orchestra, Julia Blackburn, Andreas Scholl Masterclass, Mahler Chamber Orchestra Soloists, Florent Boffard, Alice Coote and Christian Blackshaw, Quatuor Diotima and Mark Simpson, Monteverdi Choir, Quartet for the End of Time, Isabelle Faust, Jean-Guihen Queyras, Mark Simpson, Arcangelo, Humphrey Burton, Ensemble A Cumpagnia, Louis Lortie, Will Gompertz, Darcey Bussell, Ensemble Organum, BBC Symphony Orchestra, The London Sinfonietta, George Benjamin, Toby Jones, Iain Sinclair, Andrew Kötting, Britten-Pears Young Artists Alumni, Hesse Students, Doric Quartet, Gabriela Montero, Javanese gamelan, Pierre-Laurent Aimard, Suffolk schoolchildren, DanceEast, and The Prince of the Pagodas.
