====================
Apple Cart Festival takes place at Shoreditch Park, London on Sunday 25th July.

Line-up

Saint Etienne headline as a UK festival exclusive, Gilles Peterson, Edwyn Collins, Steve Mason, Clinic, Lambchop, Stewart Lee, Johnny Flyn, James Yorkston, Christian Lee (King of Comedy Magic), Shappi Khorsandi, Josie Long, Kevin Bridges, Doc Brown, House Of Fairy Tales, London Word Festival, members of The Magic Circle, Lunatic Scientists, and Hula Boy.

Tickets

An adult ticket is priced at £33, a teen ticket (aged 13-17 years) is priced at £15, with 12s and under able to attend for free (but still need a ticket).

Combining music, comedy, art, cinema, magic, and spoken word, The Apple Cart is a diverse festival that welcomes everyone to it's kaleidoscopic, colourful playground, designed to bring out the kid that's hidden in us all.

Family and kids stuff

The House Of Fairy Tales established by the artists Deborah Curtis and Gavin Turk, is a child-centred artist led project which draws on an extensive team of artists, performers, writers, educationalists, designers, musicians, film makers, dreamers and philosophers to create magical, parallel worlds where learning is play and play is directed learning. The House Of Fairy Tales is about making education inclusive, inventive and fun.

The comedy

Headlining the Laughing Boy Comedy Clubs stage is Stewart Lee with Jon Richardson, Rob Deering, Marlon Davies, Will Smith, Will Andrews, Andrew Lawrence and Simon Evans on a full days programme of comedy.

The magic

The Apple Cart will host a stage curated by members of the renowned magicians club The Magic Circle, who will provide a host of other worldly entertainment and magic for kids. The line-up includes performances from comic magician Christian Lee, and John Van Der Put. Family workshops include a chocolate making event and an on-going puppet workshop. With Hula Boy and Lunatic Scientists also on the daytime bill.

The words

The London Word Festival will be bringing games, fun, mates, top quality DIY comedy and perhaps a giant inflatable board game. Other performances include Shakespeare in Shoreditch, two young authors whose interpretations are given a sharp local twist, and The Chip Shop, a fully functioning temporary screen printing workshop, replicating a full size chippy, serving up words printed on wooden board, conceived, built and manned by Henningham Family Press. With more contributions from Francesca Millican-Slater, Hannah Silva, and many others still to be announced.

On site

The site will be dressed in irreverent style and will feature high-end catering from cherry picked traders from London's best markets, Borough, Broadway and Venn Street market. There will be a host of suitable amenities for those with children of any age.

Getting there and other info

The colourful site is close to Old Street station and is well serviced by public transport.

Accommodation

This event does not have camping but there are a number of hotels, hostels and guest houses in the area.

More information will be here when available.
