The BBanbury Folk Festival takes place from Friday 12th until Sunday 14th October 2012 at various venues around the town of Banbury in Oxfordshire with 2 main concert venues, and a major dance venue including the Mill Arts Centre, the Town Hall, the General Foods Social Club and the Canalside itself.
Line-up
Barbara Dickson with Nick Holland will headline. also confirmed are Rory McLeod, Cosmic Sausages, Something Nasty in the Woodshed, The Roving Crows, Isla St Clair, Steamchicken with Becky Wolff, Meet on the Ledge, Flaxenby, George Papavgeris, Dave Burland, Fake Thackray, Leatherat Acoustic, Linda Watkins, Winter Wilson, The Scholars, Bianco, Bartram, Brookes & Weatherall, Alhambra, Patti Smith & Ned Clamp, Exmouth Shanty Men, John Morris, Trevor Williams, Jim McLean, Folklaw, Kitty Vernon & Derek Burgess, Bill McKinnon, Dave & Ann Reader, Chucklefoot, Jane Gridley, The Sceptics, Cobwebs, and Jules the Apprentice Storyteller.
Expected also ceilidhs at the Town Hall, a craft and trade fair during the day on Saturday (admission free), local bands showcase concerts, acoustic concerts, folk clubs, folk theatre, Morris dancing (outside of The Mill and around town), workshops, story telling, song and music sessions and singing boat trips on the canal.
Tickets
Ticket are priced at £54 for the weekend, or £18 for Friday, £32 for Saturday all day/evening or £40 with Barbara Dickson & Nick Holland show, and £18 for Sunday £18. Under 14s - free admission to all events. To buy tickets, click here.
Camping
Camping is priced at £10 per night (purchasable when tickets go on sale) and available for caravans, campervans, tents and indoor camping. Hanwell Fields School will be used for indoor camping again this year. Camping for Campervans and Caravans will be at Drayton Leisure Golf Centre nearby. Because the capacity for caravans and campervans is limited, priority will be given to Season Ticket holders on those sites. Indoor camping and campers wanting to use tents are unaffected.
Pets
Dogs and other animals are not allowed at the main venues, or at the Campsites.
Accommodation
There is plenty of Hotel and Bed & Breakfast accommodation in the locality.
Parking
For those who commute to the festival there is plenty of car parking available at Banbury Railway Station car park only a couple of minutes away from the main venues. The station's own parking charges apply.
