The FREE Bloxham May Festival takes place at the village of Bloxham in Oxfordshire on Saturday 8th May 2010. The village festival is to celebrate the community of Bloxham and welcomes all. The festival is located in Old Bridge Road and surrounding establishments.
Line-up
The acts appearing include Mike Carroll's Grove 8, Tinkerscuss, The HoeDown Band, FolkLaw, Lecarla, Fork Handles, The Blue Meanies, The Oolites, Leatherat, Bloxham CofE Primary School, Acushla Caledonian Dancers, Alchemy, Warriner School, Jimmy Juggle, Bloxham School, Tudor Hall School, The Scholars, Banbury Didge Club, Chris Grant, Richard Jasper, Darryl Brown, Tonya Angelina, Rachel Gittus, Clark Wiseman, Luke May, Minnie Birch, Friggitt (Shanty Singers), plus acoustic performers/singers/duos/trios and more.Entertainment
As well as music the festival will offer Morris Mellee, 'Have a Stab', a pair of stocks, artists, buskers, displays, dancers, wine Tasting, workshops including Sam McEvoy's Drumming Workshop, a barbecue, pig roast, stalls, a country market, vintage motorcycles, exhibitions, presentations, WI Country Market, Afghan Rugs Exhibition, Schools Art Exhibition, Street Party, Bouncy Castle, Fun & Games, Dragon Walkabout, Circus skills, story telling, RAF WW2 Dakota Flypast, Shire horse rides/lifts, climbing wall, and Hook Norton Beer.The festival will have an opening ceremony at the War Memorial with Rev Sarah Tillet, Tony Baldry MP, and a Summer flower wreath will be laid on behalf of the festival.
Organisers are looking to close Old Bridge Road and part of Humber Street in front of the Elephant and Castle, from 8am to 6pm for safety reasons. As the 8th May is VE Day, they are hoping for a procession to the war memorial at 10am with the local cadets, Royal British Legion and a short service held by Rev Sarah Tillett.
Entertainments will start from around 10.15am at various locations. There will be stages in the car parks/beer gardens of the three pubs central to the festival. There will be a craft and farmers market in the street with all sorts of stalls.
The Pig Pen Pottery will also be used as an 'Artist's Corner'. Graham Mant has agreed to open up his garden to other artisans and craft people.
St Mary's Church will be used for an arts exhibition and possibly a flower display. There may be some events in the Jubillee Park and the Recreation Ground too suggested events are a car-boot sale and dog show.
The lovely ladies of the Women's Institute will be in the Ex-Serviceman's Hall for a nice cup of tea and a sit down.
At 7pm there will be a natural break to allow for an acoustic concert to take place in the Church until 9.30pm At around 8.30pm we will resume some music in the pubs and finish these concerts by 11.30pm.
On Sunday, Reverent Tillett would like to hold a service on the Recreation Ground (weather permitting). Some sporting events can take place including a cricket match in the afternoon. TBC.

The event will also have children's entertainment including a kids party with storytellers, dragons, stilt walker, juggler, and a balloon race.Nominated charity
