The eighth free, live, outdoor music festival in East Anglia is now extended to 4 days and featured performances from both nationally and locally known artists.
The event starts on Thursday with a classical event in the Springmead Gardens. On Friday evening, local musicians will be playing in several locations (including pubs) around the town. On Saturday afternoon, the main stage event on the Western Promenade takes place, and on Sunday there will be an afternoon of folk, acoustic and jazz music on Hurst Green.
The line-up for 2008 includes headliners Salt Dog due on stage at about 8.30pm on Saturday. Other confirmed acts include Fagan, Spiral Circuit, Angry v The Bear, Heroes of a Ghost Town, Aloneme, Absent Kid, The Lightyears, Stone Shuffle Jones, The Brew, and The New Town Kings.
The festival is located just off the sea front on a large grassed area enclosed by beach huts, beside the open air swimming pool, with ample space for picnics. There are also cafes nearby and food stalls will be providing alternative eating outlets on the day.
Free parking: There is a large amount of free parking but it can get pretty full there will be an overspill car park a short walk away if necessary. There were an estimated 8,000 visitors in 2007.
Individuals are invited to show their support by purchasing colourful wristbands at and Festival T shirts. Both these items go on sale at local outlets.
