Brighton Live is a celebration of live music, bringing together live music venues, promoters, labels, record shops, bands and the music industry to showcase live music of all genres for one week and all for FREE.

The event will run over five days from 23rd to 27th September. Last year 20,000 people enjoyed the event, with 250 bands (with around 1000 artists) performing in approximately 90 free events, in 20 venues.

Venues this year include Audio and Above Audio, Greenhouse Effect, Heist, Komedia, Latest Music Bar, Mrs Fitzherberts, Ohso Social, The Prince Albert, Sanctuary Cella, and the Unitarian Church.

Entrance to all the events is FREE. Events include seminars, breakfast, lunchtime and evening shows, all ages shows and an outdoor stage. Plus, expect many more remarkable events which are still in the planning stages!

This year the festival takes in 3 key areas of the city, with colour coded 'festival zone' maps to make it easier get around the city from one gig to another.

Each year the festival introduces a new genre, this year it will be focusing on African music.
