A new city wide festival in Bristol on Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st September 2008. The Bristol Festival is being organised by volunteers, the main outdoor hub featuring stages, entertainment, food and family fun will be based around the Amphitheatre and Waterfront Square, with a variety of indoor venues also hosting festival events including an exciting evening programme of club nights and gigs.
The line-up confirmed so far is as follows:
Saturday 20th September
PYRAMID STAGE: Bones At The Bottom Of The Barrel, The Kick Inside, Mcdowell, Mango Factory, The Naturals, Synchromystickz, The Novocaines, Formant, and Substatic.
ANCHOR STAGE: Gecko, Bashema, Jetking, Jhassi Elliot, Ryan Inglis, The Shrinks, Laienda, Emily Teague, and The Hinkley Veltones.

MR WOLFS STAGE: Barrio Kingdom, The Mandibles, Lets Tea Party, The Lasting Days, Mankala, Bijoumiyo, CCQ, Scuba Roots, and Smerins Anti Social Club.
PUB STAGE: MC Wogan, Hodmadoddery, Lund, DJ Guy (Dub From Atlantis), Bizali, Dubafix, Yes Sir Boss!, DJ Munkee (PRANK/Emergency), Sicknote, and Dr Meaker.
Tickets are available priced at £10 for the weekend. Tickets are no longer available online. Tickets will be available on the gate, subject to availability, at a slightly increased price.
As well as all the music there are food stalls, arts and crafts, a kids area, Pandora's Box -a fancy dress extravaganza featuring Stitch and Bitch, an art gallery by Bristol's legendary Guerrilla Galleries, a full programme of workshops including life drawing, shadow puppetry and belly dancing, a Jam stage where anyone can join in, The Soap Box where ranters and ravers, buskers and street performers are all welcome, a secret beer garden, live interactive painting, a hot soup chill out zone, the Igloo tent featuring revolutionary 360 degree visuals and more!
There will be a range of year round activities, fundraising events, workshops and art drop in sessions to help fund the event.
On Saturday 20th, from 10am until 2pm Gloucester Road will be celebrating the launch of the GRAB (Gloucester Road Alternative Bag) campaign. Over 50 local businesses have signed up to the campaign to make Gloucester Road plastic bag free. It will be a fun day with live music, special events in participating shops, a craft market and photo exhibition.
