Coastival 2009 Yorkshire goes to the Seaside! is a brand new event for Scarborough and will be a three-day celebration of music, dance, theatre, visual arts, spoken word and comedy, including a spectacular Festival of Light, held over Valentine's Day weekend, from Friday 13th to Sunday 15th February 2009.
The Friday headliner is confirmed as Feeder, with support from Mum Locked in Castle - winners of the festival's 'Battle of the Sands' competition.
The festival includes a mini jazz festival held at the Spa complex on 14th February. It will feature Burden of Paradise with Snake Davis and Helen Watson, the Bourbon Y Tequilla Salsa Orchestra, Claire Teal and Trio and a special film, Round Midnight.
The rest of the line-up includes Baka Beyond, Hassan Erraji Trio, Jesse Bannister, Bhupindar Chaggar, The Hutt People, Acoustic Gathering, Jon Gomm & Edwina Hayes, Footnotes, Tourte Quartet, Scarborough's Finest, DJ Tooley + projections, Bright Cecilia, Symphony Orchestra, Opera Singer Victoria Wright, Chris Helme & Carl Woodford, Jon Gomm & Edwina Hayes, Julie Hatton School of Dance, DJ Tooley, Zamar Gospel Choir, Postle, Morecroft, Blackout, and Patrick Billington.
Burden of Paradise will play at the Spa Grand Hall at 3pm ( tickets £8); the film Round Midnight will show at the Spa Theatre at 5pm (free) and the Bourbon Y Tequilla Salsa Orchestra and Claire Teal and Trio will play at the Grand Hall at 7pm (£12). A ticket covering all three events costs £15.
