Coastival 2014

A full Coastival returns as a three day event when Yorkshire goes to the Seaside from Friday 14th to Sunday 16th February 2014.
There will be music, free films, activities for children, and various venues across Scarborough will host gallery concerts, classical music, theatre, arts installations and exhibitions, some of which will continue for the remainder of February.
Line-up
The first acts announced are:
Friday (Opening Day): Brand New Heavies, Nubiyan Twist.
Saturday (Scarborough Jazz Day): Kate Peters, The Heavy Horns, Clare Teal & the Community Big Band
Acoustic Stage: Antonio Lulic, Tenacious Sea (Covers of Destiny), Jay Gray, Ben Lane, Luke Smythe, Heather Raine, and Terri Ann Prendergast
Sunday (Musiport Day): The Demon Barbers present The Lock In Dance Show.
Acoustic Stage: The Beastie Drummers, Connor and Nathan, String Theory, Ash Gray, Joe Solo, Maybe Me, Tom Davenport's Student extravaganza
As usual there’s the FREE Acoustic Lounge and DJ Mister Tooley and friends in ‘The Engine Room’ through to the early hours, again all FREE.
Rollercoastival again brings lots of FREE activities for children; and young people can find loads of events down at The Street. Local artists open their studios and galleries and there are lots of other unique and special events – not forgetting Orpheus the Mariner and a world record attempt for the largest puppet.
Installations include Sea Box by Sea Swim, Sounds of Our Surroundings, The White Room, One, The Archaeologist’s Dance, A Wondering Presence – Wendy Tate, and Rotunda Sound Stories
Films on during Coastival include West Side Sory, Aaja Nachl, When We Were Kings, Jump Britain, and Carmen.
Theatre includes Orpheus The Mariner, Shadow Encounters, This is Where It Happened, Faceless Company - Short Ships, and a Contemporary Theatre Production Performance.
Tickets
Ticket prices vary depending on event from free to £20. Or there's a weekend music ticket available priced at £50, or an all day Saturday jazz ticket priced at £20.
Accommodation
This event does not have camping but there are a number of hotels, hostels and guest houses in the area.
