The Cockermouth Rock Festival or CockRock, will be a two day festival in 2008, with the dates confirmed as Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th July at Wellington Farm, Cockermouth.
The festival has been running for four years, and is a non profit event set up to help raise money for two great local causes, the Great North Air Ambulance and Cockermouth Mountain Rescue as well as to encourage and promote local bands and musicians.
On the Rapid Fire Stage the Saturday headliner is The Sneakypeeks and on Sunday it is Dear Superstar. they are joined by The Summits, Eight Page Pullout, South Quay, The Wooden Spoons, Freebird, Sour Mash, Solway Deltas, Max Raptor, The Strands, Seventhwave, Illegitimate Sons Of The King, Wired Desire, Falling Red, Leroy Johnson And The Flicks, Get Vegas, Kube, Nine Lives, Brightside, Attica Rage, and Tokyo Jo.
The Bar Stage plays host to Yellow Bentines, Indigo Skins, The Mosaics, Deeds Of The Nameless, The Dickensies, Fearne, White Ace, Riot Lights, Obrigado, Go, Outfit Faux, and Lahayna.
Playing The Slingshot Stage are Nasty Ho, Feed Me, Skunk, Mazzoni, Vertigo, The Return, A Lesser Concern, Sheepskin Beard, Laid Back Jack, and Censored.
CockRock '08 will see many new additions. The 'rapid fire' stages will once again be in action, there will be a new larger stage which will be combined with the well stocked bar, aptly name 'The Bar Stage' which will be hosted by Cumbria's very own Solfest. As well as the Session Tent - back by popular demand, and a new extra stage. Expect a professional BBQ on site, plus many stalls, food outlets, extra bars as well as many events for all the family. These include a Bouncy Castle, Rodeo Bull, Gladiator Duals and more.
