The Edinburgh Jazz and Blues Festival 2009 takes place from Friday 31st July until Sunday 9th August at various venues around Edinburgh.

Now in its 31st year the festival offers a host of concerts, club gigs, jam sessions, street parties and events.

The programme is as follows:
Friday: My Funny Valentine, Sinne Eeg, Fat Sams Band, George Penman Jazzmen, Roy Hargrove Quintet, Alyn Cosker Trio, Joe Acheson Quartet, and Atomic Bosco.
Saturday: Mardi Gras, Tam White, Lisa Mills, the Sermon Organ Trio, Angie King, Diplomats of Jazz, the Criterion Parade Band, Makoto Ozone and No Name Horses, Enrico Pieranunzi Trio, Phil Mason New Orleans All Stars, Tricia Boutte with Kenny Mylne All Stars, My Funny Valentine, Colin Steele and Robert Pettigrew, Eric Burdon and The Animals, Doky/Ozone/Johansen/Smith, Tom Gordon Mirror Image, and Hamish Stuart Band.
Sunday: Jazz On A Summer's Day, Todd Gordon. Edinburgh Schools Jazz Orchestra, Forth Valley Chorus, Mike Hart's Society Syncopators, Tricia Boutte, The Criterion Parade Band, The Squadronaires, Grassmarket Sunday Market, KBB Big Band from Alesund in Norway, Polich Krakow band and Rosy Blue Duo, Scotsman Talk: Chet Baker, Let's Get Lost, Gospel Concert with Tricia Boutte, Morten Gunnar Larsen, Enrico Pieranunzi Plays Scarlatti, Courtney Pine, My Funny Valentine, Dwayne Dopsie & the Zydeco Hellraisers, Ryan Kisor Quintet, Edith Budge, Dick Hyman Piano Legends With Chris Hopkins and Bernd Lhotsky, The Thing.

Tuesday: Spirits of Rhythm and Thomas l'Etienne, Ken Mathieson Classic Jazz Orchestra with guest Alan Barnes, Todd Gordon with special guest Clare Teal, Les Doigts De L'Homme, Blues Night at the Minto: Blue Hyenas and Missing Cat, Dick Hyman European All Stars, Hot Club Of Cowtown, Carl Majeau.
Wednesday: Swing 2009 with Dick Lee, Stephen Coutts, John Russell, and Roy Percy, Edinburgh Jazz Festival Orchestra Plays Duke Ellington, Dick Hyman: Harpsichord Swing, Bill Salmond's Louisiana Ragtime Band, Haftor Medboe Group, Martin Taylor/Sylvain Luc – Double Standards, Elephant9, Sophia Domancich Trio + Sophia Domancich/Raymond MacDonald, Jam Session with Bill Kyle.
Thursday: Joe Gordon's Ragtime Banjos, Tommy Smith & Jacob Karlzon, Moishe's Bagel, Paris Washboard + Mike Hart's Society Syncopators, Jeremy Monteiro: Singapore Swing, Niki King sings Billie Holiday, Melting Pot, Brass Jaw, Jam Session with Bill Kyle.
