Now in it's 38th year, Fylde 2008 promises to be a great celebration of Folk Music Song and Dance. The Fylde Folk Festival attracts people of all ages and from all walks of life. The thousands of visitors mix happily with local people who have come to enjoy the music and the friendly atmosphere in the various hotels, pubs and outdoor events.

Plus many dances, dancers and other entertainment including Lancashire & Cheshire clog dancing contests, a Lancashire dialect competition, worst singer in the world competition and a young performers competition. Clog dancers and entertainers include Chas Fraser, Kath Morris, Harry Cowgill, Melanie Barber, Linda Burton, Marguerite Hill, Jenny & Cameron Martin, Leap To Your Feet (Appalachian Dancers), Flipjack Jugglers, Feet First Appalachian Dancers, Fylde Coast Cloggers and Singleton Cloggers.

The festival has grown since its first year single concert following the Wyre Walk, to having over 130 events starting on the Thursday and finishing Sunday evening. The festival venues are diverse, ranging in size from small personal rooms above local pubs to the Marine Hall seating over 700 people. The Marine Hall also houses the CAMRA award winning "WYRE LOUNGE" which features many popular real ales.

There will be workshops at Fylde including Appalachian banjo, art workshops, bodhran, fiddle, melodeon, Non-such Dulcimer Club Northern Meeting, stagecraft, whistle, workshops for young people, advanced fiddle, and guitar workshops.

Tickets
Saver weekend tickets for all events are priced at £53.00; a child (11-16yrs) weekend ticket is priced at £25.00. An all events on Saturday (Day & Evening) ticket is £30.00 and prices for the concerts range in price from £8 to £15. Children under 11yrs Free. Camping at the campsite costs £10 per adult and it's the same price for those staying at the caravan site, this option is only available to weekend ticket holders.
