Golowan 2007

One of Cornwall's biggest community festivals with it's foundation in traditions, giant imagery, banners, customs, mixed with music, theatre and film.

The event culminates in a 'big weekend', Mazey Eve on Friday, 22nd June, through a day packed with parades on Mazey Day, Saturday 23rd June, and Quay Fair on Sunday 24th June with a celebration of street theatre, dance and music taking place around the town and at various venues.

There's usually an eclectic mix of music to get feet moving at Saturday and Sunday's dances and this year is no exception, with Lolou, a seven-piece Senegalese band, headlining (£10), after a local bands showcase in the Marquee (£1) on Saturday night and showband, Four Tons of Funk, playing in the Marquee on Sunday night, 24th June (£5).

As well as music and parades, there are also Cornish games, fireworks, storytelling, films, and walks.
