The Ipswich Summer Arts Festival runs for two weeks, from Saturday 28th June to Sunday 13th July. Over that time Ipswich aims to become the cultural focus for arts in the region, with a full programme of events from music and drama through to visual art, film, and literature by national and locally based organisations and artists.
One central event is The Music Day which takes place on Sunday 6th July. This is a free family event, showcasing many of the brightest and best acts on the local music scene, with six stages set in the beautiful surroundings of Christchurch Park and Mansion. This is expected to include plenty of activities for children, including a small fairground. Car parking is free.
There's no programme of events confirmed for the festival at the moment.
As well as using the more traditional spaces, Ip-art takes exhibitions and performances into public buildings and spaces throughout the town. This colourful combination aims to include tradition, innovation and imagination within the arts in Ipswich.
More information will be here when available.
