Lake of Stars Festival which takes place from Friday 10th October until Sunday 12th October at a new location at Senga Bay after four great years at Chintheche.
For three days Western and African artists gather at the festival for a musical, social and cultural exchange. The event has a music policy ranging from Afropop, folk and reggae to beatboxers and the best international DJs. This year's line-up is a union of Western and African musicians near the shores of Lake Malawi.
This year's line-up includes Seth Lakeman, Mary Anne Hobbs, Scratch Perverts, Skitz Man Like Me, Ali B, Neech, The National Parcs, Beatlife Samba Band, Swahili Hip Hop Foundation, Wildcat 745, The Pedantics, Buddah, Love Thing, Scribble presents Kormac, Bodytonic DJs, Boom Monk Ben, Full Phat, DJ Antichris and Xenen, Mr Paul and James Rand, Flash Atkins, Profit, Urban Gorrilla DJs, DJ Excel and Sandman, Scott (Stylus), Okeeba Jubalo, Pierre Brewer, Steph Holland (Out of the Gloom), Mike B, Johnny Pluse, Audiodroid, Alex K (Itchysoul) , Nick Mulvey (Portico Quartet), Lucky Strike (Veri Lo Records), Adam Scrimshire, Jon Rokka (Kingpin), Gecko (Kingpin), Kraymon (Kingpin), and many more African and UK acts to be announced.

The new site is much better located for access and has many more factilities. Sunbird has a range of accommodation options, from standard to superior rooms, from family to camping (under lots of shade), so every budget is catered for. Water sports and activities include paddle boats, wind surfing, sailing, water skiing, island trips, snorkelling and beach football. An outdoor swimming pool and beach volleyball are also available.
As well as the festival, Lake of Stars stages events all over the world to help fund the festival and raise awareness of the event and of Malawi. Next year there will be several overland trips from South Africa to Malawi and Lake of Stars will be part of the Africa Beetle Marathon!
