AFC Sudbury are holding their fourth Live and Kicking Music Festival on Saturday 22nd and Sunday 23rd June, at The MEL Group Stadium, Kings Marsh, Sudbury, in Suffolk.

The two day festival, now in its fourth year, is being supported by the Sudbury Scooter Club and will host more than 15 musical acts over both days.

Line-up

Saturday: 10-hours of music including the Neville Staple Band. He will be supported by tribute acts including Changing Man (tribute Paul Weller and The Jam), Adored (tribute to The Stone Roses) and Quadrophonia (tribute to The Who) plus Zeb Roots, The Mannequins, Old Town Souls, Oblivious, Absolution, Lone Crows, Poesi and Andy Hill. The musical acts will also be complimented by a scooter display being put on by the Sudbury Scooter Club, which is supporting the festival.
Sunday: Definitely MightBe (a tribute to Oasis), Th!nk P!nk (tribute to P!nk), The Glambusters (tribute to the glamrock era) will be supporting The Committed (tribute to The Commitments). A beer festival will also be held over the duration of the festival.

Sunday of the festival will include an extensive free children's village featuring mega-slides, bouncy castles, a children's entertainer, circus skills, Punch and Judy shows and gladiator duels. Additional acts will be performed by Quay School of Dance and the Woodhall School Djemba Drums. Comperes are BBC Radio Suffolk presenter Stephen Foster and eccentric Suffolk author and entertainer Charlie Haylock.

Tickets

Tickets are priced at £30 for an adult (aged 16+) weekend ticket, and a family weekend ticket for 2 adults and 2 children (aged 5-15 years) is priced at £70. Saturday tickets are priced at £20 for adults, and £5 for children 5-15, with under 5s able to attend free. A family Saturday ticket is priced at £45. Sunday tickets are priced at £15 for adults, and £5 for children 5-15, with under 5s able to attend free. A family Saturday ticket is priced at £35.

Scooter display

Some of the scooters from the London Olympics 2012 closing ceremony will be on display. This will be quite a unique event as it is the only time the scooters from the Olympics are coming back together.

Getting there

Sudbury itself is easily accessible by car, train and bus. The market town is located between Colchester and Bury St Edmunds with Ipswich around 35 minutes away by car. There is a train station which shuttles towards Marks Tey with connections then to Colchester and London Liverpool Street. Bus services run daily throughout the area with good links to Bury St Edmunds, Colchester, Ipswich, Haverhill, Halstead, Long Melford, Glemsford and most other villages in the area.

Camping

This event will have camping (to be finalised) as well as a number of hotels, hostels and guest houses in the area.


This is an event for all the family. As well as music there are many free and entertaining things for children to experience in the 'Kids Activity Village' which will include inflatables, lookalike characters, face painting, circus skills, balloon modeling, magic shows and children's entertainers.

The MEL Group Stadium is a well-equipped venue, with a number of outlets serving different varieties of food and drink, both hot and cold. There is of course ice cream for the young. Alcoholic drinks including a 'Special Festival Real Ale' being available in the King's Marsh Suite.
