London Song Festival 2007

The only major annual event in London devoted entirely to the song repertoire. A series of song recitals and concerts featuring major artists alongside the best young talent from the UK and overseas. specially commissioned works from exciting young composers. There's master-classes in the song repertoire given by World-class artists.

The four concerts of the inaugural 2007 London Song Festival have the theme of "The Mediterranean". Programmes will explore the music and culture of different Mediterranean countries with songs from the 16th to 21st centuries, and will include the premieres of three new song-cycles specially commissioned for The London Song Festival. The final concert will be a complete performance of Hugo Wolf's Italienisches Liederbuch.
