The Lucca Summer Festival, one of the most important music festivals in Italy, has been held in Lucca since 1998 when American singer/songwriter Bob Dylan got on stage in Piazza Napoleone. That night marked the official beginning of the Summer Festival which has carved out a place for itself as an internationally acclaimed music event featuring some of the leading and most prestiguous stars of the international music scene.
Concerts are held in Piazza Napoleone within the historic walls of Lucca, creating a truly magical backdrop for this musical spectacle which attracts 60,000 to 80,000 spectators from all over Italy and abroad.
