The Magic Loungeabout - CANCELLED 2010

The Magic Loungeabout will not be taking place this year. A main investor has pulled out leaving them with a funding gap. They hope to be back in 2011. All ticket holders will receive a full refund and be entitled to a 25% discount on tickets for 2011.

After a year off in 2009, The Magic Loungabout returns in 2010 on a different site and now as a two-day event.

Now being held at Broughton Hall, Skipton, Yorkshire on Saturday 31st July and Sunday 1st August, with "Saturday for indulging, Sunday for enriching".

It says it's "An experience for those who wish to enjoy their festival fun in a more salubrious environment, one replete with an array of the finest talent in grown-up pop and electronica, an assortment of luxury accommodation and fine food and drink to indulge in" – including be-spoke cocktails served by professional mixologists and on site waiters.

Saturday will be all about indulgence, be it at the cocktail bar or dancing late into the night, whilst Sunday will be about enriching the senses. So take a long, languorous massage or leave the kids to be told mystical fables whilst you go and listen to tales from inspiring speakers from the worlds of food, film and travel.

Musically the remit will be "the best electronic pop on Saturday whilst Sunday will have more of an acoustic, laid back feel." It also promises a speaker's tent, a cosy cinema, a restaurant, a tea shop and an old school games room, lots on offer for the kids, spa treatments, a crafts and clothes area.

The Magic Loungabout says of itself:- "The festival embodies the spirit of magic and adventure and eclecticism, and is the perfect tonic for intimate escapism, far away from the sprawling, large scale events criss-crossing the UK. The Magic Loungeabout welcomes bright young things or those of a more mature orientation who still like to party, but in a finer, refined style. Families are an integral part of this ethos. Fun seekers and night owls and culture vultures are welcomed with open arms. The Magic Loungeabout is all about music, fun and games – in a beautiful setting where a touch of glittering class permeates everywhere you look."

Line-up

No acts have been announced yet. The first announcement are promised soon. Live music starts at midday on the Saturday and finishes at 7pm on the Sunday.

Musically the remit will be broadened slightly for The Magic Loungeabout in 2010, so expect plenty of the best electronic pop on Saturday whilst Sunday will have more of an acoustic, laid back feel.

Tickets

Tickets are on sale at the price of £86.40. There is also a three way payment plan on the full adult weekend price. Payments can be made in December and March with the final instalment in June.

Disabled facilities available. Carers must purchase a ticket.

Luxury camping

Bowtop Caravans

15ft long and nearly 7ft wide. A bed is situated at the back with room for more sleeping below. They even come with a mini stove. Price: £599 (Sleeps 4).

Cloudhouses

Cloudhouses are a twist on an old Persian design not dissimilar to a yurt. All Cloudhouses will be furnished with a watertight groundsheet, cosy rugs, fluffy sheepskins, a scattering of cushions, a small handmade table and a tea light lantern (with a good supply of tea lights). Price £365 (sleeps 4).

Squrts

Squrts are miniature yurts. They are colourful, cosy and unique. All Squrts will be furnished with a watertight groundsheet, cosy rugs, fluffy sheepskins, a scattering of cushions a small handmade table and tea light lantern (with a good supply of tea lights). Price: £365 (sleeps 2-4).

Bell Tents

These are 4 metres in diameter, natural canvas circular tents. They stand 6ft tall and come with natural coir matting floor, battery powered fairy lights and the option of a double bed with duvet, pillows and sheets. The tents are ideal for a couple sleeping on the bed or a family of four sleeping on the matting. Price: £300 (sleeps 2-4).

Spaceships

Spaceships are the newest camper vans to arrive in Great Britain. Think 21st century Swiss army knife of campers or like a good car but with more useful features than any other ordinary camper van. With a double bed and the bedding, cooker, fridge and cutlery and plates. All Magic Loungeabout ticket holders receive a 15% discount on the usual rates too.Price £50 a day.

The Pergola Packages

(This one's not camping). They are a permanent base in the actual arena, fully furnished 8 sided tents which come with the hassle free advantage of waitress service. Price: £495 (suitable for up to 10).

Access to the site is from Friday 30th July at 6.30pm. Attendees are asked to leave the site by 9pm on Sunday evening.

Parking and camping are free. No alcohol to be brought on site.
