With an experimental line-up of daytime conference programming led by cultural, artistic and technological luminaries, and punctuated by a diverse line up of landmark nightly performances, Moogfest 2016 honours the creativity and inventiveness of Dr. Robert Moog and pays tribute to the legacy of the analogue synthesizer.

The daytime platform explores the synthesis of music, technology art and innovation with a participatory program of conversation and collaboration led by Futurists, Musicians, Scientists, Authors, Filmmakers, and Pioneers of Electronic Music Instrument Design.

A full programme of Masterclasses and Workshops. Free and open to the public, an entire day of music programming and workshops that celebrate electronic music for kids of all ages. There are also Durationals - three to four-hour-long experimental sessions with immersive visuals, intimate church performances, Mad Professor masterclass and an outdoor Saturday reggae party, audio festival of radio, film festival, art installations and immersive sonic environments throughout the festival, including a 50th anniversary tribute to the 1966 performances by Experiments in Art and Technology. New commissions and site-specific collaborations developed in partnership with the Research Triangle Park, innovation consultancy IDEO, artists Kyle McDonald and Lori Napoleon aka Antenes.

Curated conversations on the first human Cyborg, Neil Harbisson curates a provocative conversation about Transhumanism. Chuck Lightning, of Janelle Monáe’s Wondaland Arts Society, organizes an Afrofuturism program. Ryan Germick, leader of the Google Doodle team, hosts an expanded talk-show about The Future with guests including veteran Pixar story artist Emma Coates and cartoonist and comic theorist Scott McCloud.
