The Mostly Jazz Festival brings two days of mostly jazz music to the surroundings of Moseley Park, Birmingham on Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th July 2010.

The Mostly Jazz Festival is the UK's newest jazz festival and the only, open air, one-site festival, exclusively dedicated to contemporary jazz, funk and soul.

Line-up

The festival will be headlined by the Sun Ra Arkestra on Saturday and Courtney Pine on Sunday. Other acts include Quantic and his Combo Bárbaro, Cymande All-Stars, James Taylor Quartet, Portico Quartet and Birmingham jazz legend Andy Hamilton & The Blue Notes. On the Saturday The Yardbird, plays host to The Fantastics!, Lizzy Parks, Nick Pride & The Pimptones, The Getup and Groove Cartel. Birmingham Jazz will take over with some of their favourite acts on the Sunday, including Cymande II, Sara Colman, Moon Unit, Chris Bowden Trio, MC3 and Beebe. Craig Charles, BBC 6 Music's Funk and Soul DJ, will be joining the festival team and compering the event on Saturday 3rd July. He will also be taking to the decks to kick start the festival after party.

Tickets

An adult day ticket is priced at £28.50 and weekend tickets are priced at £48.50. Tickets for children aged 12-16 years (when accompanied by a paying adult) are priced at £15 for a day ticket, or £25 for a weekend ticket. On site

The festival will have two stages side by side, the second of which will feature up and coming talent. There will also be films, artist talks, music workshops, jazz dance performances, live comedy and spoken word. On the Saturday there will be a big screen for the football fans who want to watch the World Cup between acts.

Accommodation

This event does not have camping but there are a number of hotels, hostels and guest houses in and around Birmingham.
