The bi-annual The Music and Merriment Festival returns for a fourth edition offering two days of musical entertainment, kids club, circus skills workshops, fire juggling, hot air balloon display, local artists, food, an inflatable county pub, and acres of space for kids to play and enjoy, all set in the surroundings of Spetisbury Rings, near Blandford, in Dorset on Friday 15th and Saturday 16th August 2014

Line-up

Beth Johnstone, Jess Handly, Selective Hearing, Quins Quinney, Midlife Crisis, Lollystick Nemisis, Sunstone Collective, Roger Dubarry, Ruby and the Roughcuts, Just Sing, Pete Christie, and Blame it on Bill. The festival offers stage time to any age and any musical genre, whether experienced performers or not. Everyone is welcome to share in a day of musical entertainment.

An adult ticket is priced at £20 Adult, a teen (aged 8-16 years) is priced at £1,, and under 8's go free, tickets for the over 65's are priced at £15, with a family ticket priced at £50. 

The festival warm up on Friday 15th August from 6pm until 12midnight is also available with an additional donation of £5 on the door.

Not for profit

Music and Merriment aims to be a celebration and expression of local musical talent, community involvement and spirit. It's about people coming together to create something great. Everyone who performs at, or works on the festival does so for free, and every penny of profit is donated to support local charities, including The Weldmar Hospicecare Trust.

History

Tim Wood grew up at the foot of the festival site, Spetisbury Rings, and as a child always thought it would be a great place to have a festival. It wasn't his mum Teresa sadly died from cancer in 2006, and was so incredibly well cared for by The Weldmar Hospicecare Trust, that he had a reason great enough to finally attempt it.

Camping

Camping is available for a charge of Camping i£5 per tent or campervan with a festival ticket. Children free but must be accompanied by an adult. This is available on Friday and Saturday nights only. Please note that due to site restrictions they are unable to provide showering/washing facilities.
