The Newcastle Community Green Festival has been cancelled.
Organisers made a statement saying, "We’re very sorry to announce that there will be no Green Festival this year.
Despite a last-ditch attempt to raise funds, we were not able to reach our target.
We are eternally grateful to everyone who has supported us. Rest assured, your contribution will be go towards next year’s festival, which we are planning to be bigger and better than ever. The call for funding is still open, so please share this with everyone you can and we’ll see you in 2016."
The Newcastle Community Green Festival is the biggest FREE entertainment and environmental event in the country and run entirely by volunteers.
The date for 20th edition of the festival is Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th June 2015.

Plus The Barefoot Businessmen, The Fat Matt show, The Fool, The Cow and The Art of Corruption – Joe May, The Good Times Show, The Good Wife, Faces of Disco, The Five Ring Circus, Todd Various, The Potheads, The Drunken Sailors, Royal Jellies, Superstars, Lunatricks, Giant Bubble Lady, Fire Grrrlz, and Nat and Loki.
The festival provides a showcase for local musicians and performers, as well as FREE hands-on arts, heritage and children's activities for all to take part into take part in. There are 2 stages of music and some banter at the Bandstand Parade plus Circus performers doing some weird and wacky things!

Newcastle Community Green Festival is more than just a music event, they also promote environmental and social awareness and happy, healthy lives. The event itself has a strong environmental message incorporated throughout and aims to raise awareness of environmental issues by providing creative and educational arts and music based activities for the benefit of the local community.
While the event will continue to showcase the very best in local talent across the stages, there is also a wealth of other activities to keep audiences amused throughout the weekend. From stilt walkers, a sensory play area for disabled children and their friends, lots of kids' activities, traditional workshops and activities and lots of fun.
There is something to suit all tastes. Alongside this there will be the usual diverse array of stalls, vegetarian and vegan catering and an opportunity to quiz the experts on a number of environmental and ethical issues.
Expect Permaculture, Workshops, and Social Justice Area, Kids's Area - including a Sensory play tent, Healing Area - just look for the beautiful teepee's, and Markets and stalls.
