Loughborough Folk 2006

From big names in British folk to some exciting new talent, there should be something for everyone. There are workshops, storytelling, fringe events at local folk clubs, ceilidhs, sessions, singarounds, Morris performances, a real ale bar, plus many special events. Most events take place in the Town Hall but there are a few fringe venues too.

This year's artists include Seth Lakeman, Chris Wood and Martha Tilston. The full line-up is as follows.

Weekend workshops include: a guitar masterclass with Johnny Dickinson; Chris Wood on how to market and release CDs; a singing masterclass with Tim van Eyken; a concertina workshop with Keith Kendrick; instrumental workshops for young musicians with Tom Kitching, former BBC Young Folk Musician of the Year finalist, and Sam Sweeney, of Kerfuffle; and an instrumental workshop based on playing for dance with Laurel Swift.

There will be also be dance workshops, more activities for kids, interviews with John Tams: From Albion to the Radio Ballads; and Colin Irwin with Dougie MacLean.

ACCOMODATION
This is available around the town but there is also indoor camping at £10 for weekend ticket holders or at £5 per night for day ticket holders.
