Rheinkultur is Germany's biggest FREE festival, and takes place on Saturday 3rd July 2010 at Rheinaue, near Bonn, in Germany. In the course of more than two decades, this event has developed into a real crowd-puller with audiences of up to 170,000 people.

The acts confirmed include Juliette Lewis, Valient Thorr, Azad, Elektrodrei, The Glitz, Tom Hoax, Tobox, tuettchips, Hemmi, Phil Fidget, Matthias Korr, Sondaschule, The Durango Riot, We Were Promised Jetpacks, Resultat, Angels & Enemies, Hello Bomb, X-Ray Harpoons, Snaga&Pillath, Kollegah & Favorite, WSIH, Marteria, Eskimo the Soulion, Zumento, WBN Squad, Jennifer Rostock, Alexisonfire, Der Familie Popolski, Asaf Avidan & The Mojos, Hammerhead, Moke, Triggerfinger, MiaoMio, Die Orsons, Dickes B, and Fard.

Accommodation

The city of Bonn prohibits any kind of wild camping, there is affordable accommodation within the city. It's recommended that the best way to travel there is by train using a 9 euro 'Green Card, although Bonn offers all the usual travel options.

Kids Area

The festival has a good children's area with fun, games, sports and music workshops for them to participate in.

Green ethos

Natural and environmental issues have always been important for Rheinkultur with its setting in a recreation area. Rheinkultur is one of the leading festivals in Europe in terms of sustainability and environmental protection. The festival offers a myriad of alternative green solutions including sustainability, waste, and environmental management, recycling, renewable energy, a glass free site, mobile toilets with no chemical additives, a 'Green Card' scheme for public transport, using local suppliers or local products, and more.

Visitors to the festival are asked to be equally green, with waste avoidance, environmentally-friendly directions and respectful handling of the site, plus asking festival goers to leave food at home and only purchase it on site.
