Ruisrock 2014

Ruisrock is one of Europe's oldest rock festivals and takes place annually on the picturesque island of Ruissalo, Turku, in Finland. The dates for the 45th edition are from Friday 4th, to Sunday 6th of July.

Line-up

Friday: The Offspring, Bastille, Caribou, Cheek, Children Of Bodom, Sanni, Erin, Olavi Uusivirta, Pariisin Kevät, and Stone. 

Saturday: Veronica Maggio, Jenni Vartiainen, J. Karjalainen, Popeda, Michael Monroe, Haloo Helsinki!, Lost Society, Risto, Ruudolf, Karri Koira, Musta Barbaari & Aksim, Samuli Putro, Stam1na, and Stig & Kullankaivajat. 

Sunday: Wiz Khalifa, Phoenix, Suede, First Aid Kit, Icona Pop, The 1975, Vesa-Matti Loiri, Kolmas Nainen, Gasellit, Jonna Tervomaa, Jukka Poika, and Scandinavian Music Group.

Tickets are priced at 125 euros (approx £100) for a 3 day ticket.

On site

The festival has four large stages, and a few small ones. There are the usual kind of festival fare food, plus merchandise areas, stalls and Guitar Hero stands etc.In 2008 there was even a circus.

Camping

Camping spaces must be booked beforehand in the official camping site of Ruisrock. There are also accommodation options available on the island, but they tend to get booked up quickly, so it is best to book early.

Getting there

Most festival goers go by train from Helsinki which has transport links to Europe. Turku does also have an airport with air links to Belgium, Denmark, and Poland.
