A multilingual celebration of the music of Wales alongside that of other small nations. Set on a farm near a very small village, this festival aims to celebrate the revival of minority cultures and languages and the universal language of music in all its forms.
The first language of the festival will be Welsh, but the 'operating system' will be English. Some of the presentation will be in Irish, some in French and perhaps in Manding or Arabic too, because there will be 13 acts from 5 different small nations:
Te Vaka from the Polynesian islands; Pape and Chekh from Senegal; Moussa Kouyate and Kevin Brown (from Senegal and Yorkshire!) and Hassan Erraji from Morocco.
There is a strong Irish contingent with Brid Ni Mhaoileoin with Alan Burke, and Instruments of Torture.
Welsh classical music will be represented by opera singer Buddud Verona James presenting her one-woman show Castra Diva, and local bass Aled Edwards; traditional Welsh music by Heather Jones, The Kilbride Brothers, and Ganthrig Bwt (who also tell bi-lingual stories), and Welsh pop music by Kald.
There are also children's workshops, stalls, food and a bar between the two stages which are to be housed in a very large barn, big enough, the organisers claim, to hold a thousand people. If the weather is fine the doors will be folded back although everything will be undercover just in case!
Open from 6pm until midnight on Friday and from noon until midnight on Saturday.
Camping and campervans are welcome at a extra small charge.
