Snowside - CANCELLED 2009

THIS EVENT HAS BEEN CANCELLED.
Due to circumstances beyond the organisers control they have been left with no other choice but to cancel with immediate effect Snowside Festival due to certain unforeseen factors including the current economic climate, the pound-euro exchange rate resulting in rising costs, the knock on effect is that ticket sales have been too low. They will continue to pursue their ambition to hold a festival in the region next year. Ticket purchasers need to contact the point of sale for refunds.

Snowside is a music and arts festival which also offers the chance for festivalgoers to ski and snowboard. A week long event happening from at the resort of Nassfield, Hermagor, Austria from Monday 23rd until Sunday 29th March 2009.

The festival includes parties curated by The Secret Garden Party and Eddy Temple Morris' The Remix. Secret Garden Party host the indoor parties and expect their usual festival flavoured fun with fancy dress, inflatables, live bands and DJs.

Artists confirmed include:
Live acts: headlined by Metronomy, with The Infadels, Kissy Sell Out, Evil 9, Slagsmalsklubben, Man Like Me, The Losers, The Japanese Popstars, A.Human, and more to be announced.

DJs: Eddy Temple-Morris, Renny Pilgrim, DJ Fresh, TC, CTRL Z, Kris Menace, South Central, The Quemists, Brookes Brothers, Matrix and Futurebound, Silent Witness, Rhysmix, The Head Gardener, and more to be confirmed.

Stages include a three-room basement club, half pipe party area, terrace bar at The Cube, an old military border look-out post, the turrets of a disused military base, the longest cable car of the entire Alps aptly named The Millennium Express which is 6,000 metres in length and climbs 1,309 metres, and an outdoor arena located in a natural amphitheatre at the bottom of a piste.

Rooms available in 2s, 4s, 6s and 8s, ski in/ski out, shared or private showers, half board, 24 hour bar, restaurant, après ski bar with a sun terrace, chill out area on all floors, fitness area, sauna, steam baths, wireless internet, and is in the centre of the action. Or alternatively, there are three star self catering apartments which are dotted about the town, and available in 4s, 5s and 6s.

Tickets:
The booking system is not yet available, although there will be an option for a £100 deposit per person to secure a booking. There will be the three package options, all the packages include: 6 nights accommodation, 5 day full area ski pass, Full Snowside event pass, Breakfast (Cube Packages only), and Evening meals (Cube packages only).

PACKAGE 1: 3 star self-catered apartments based in Tropolach. Priced at £389 pp or £289 + £110 for 5 day ski pass.
PACKGE 2: The CUBE, 3 star half board rooms with shared showers. Priced at £429 pp or £329 + £110 for 5 day ski pass.
PACKAGE 3: The CUBE, 3 star half board rooms with private showers. Priced at £449 pp or £349 + £110 for 5 day ski pass.

At the heart of Nassfeld lies the Cube Hotel and hub of all Snowside activity. The Cube represents an incredible and totally unique facility in the region in terms of its accommodation, skiing/boarding accessibility, party and festival venue – an inspiring focal point for partying in Nassfeld.

Expect secret border-crossing parties late into the night, moonlit lakeside jaunts, midnight skiing, spectacular shows and mysterious mountainside adventures! Add to that the beautiful mountainscapes of the Alps.
