The Sunday Concerts, which attract audiences of up to 20,000 to Bents Park, South Shields each week, form part of the much-loved This is South Tyneside Festival – one of the biggest and best free festivals in the country.

The free Sunday concert series will take from Sunday 14th July until Sunday 4th August 2024.

The three-month festival with its packed programme of live music, entertainment and family friendly events, launches in June with the Sandhaven Amphitheatre live music series, followed by the spectacular Summer Parade on Saturday 6 July.

Sunday 14 July: Sigala, Yo Man Funk Band, Marc Rowell, and Drum Young
Sunday 21 July: Jason Donovan, Two Metres Apart, The Gaslighters, and Sophie Gordon
Sunday 28 July: PRIDE feat Sister Sledge, Five Star’s Deniece Pearson, Channy, Shelley Stevens, and The Bobby Dazzlers.
Sunday 4 August: Haircut 100; Carol Decker, Sonia, and The Breakfast Club

The artists will be supported by local acts, including Yo Man Funk Band, Marc Rowell, Drum Young, 2 Meters Apart, The Gaslighters, Sophie Gordon and The Breakfast Club, with more to be confirmed in due course.

'Priority access' tickets are available for £6, which guarantee access to the concert.

For those without a ticket the events are still free, but works strictly on a first-come-first-served basis.

Seating is not provided but you are allowed to bring your own folding chairs or rugs to sit on. Please be aware that people often stand immediately in the front of the stage and this is often encouraged by the artistes who are performing. If you want to enjoy the concert from the comfort of a deck chair you are recommended to set up some way back from the stage.

Disabled Provision

Bents Park is a large open area which provides good views of the stage for those in wheelchairs from most areas. In addition there is a large video screen adjacent to the stage which will show live footage of the concert. There is a designated disabled viewing platform however capacity is limited and will be allocated on a first come first served basis.

Accommodation

This event does not have camping but there are a number of hotels, hostels and guest houses in the area.
