The 5th Threadfest, a FREE cross-city festival of independent music takes place over Spring Bank Holiday Weekend from Friday 27th to Sunday 29th May 2016, at various venues in Bradford, West Yorkshire.

Line-up

The line-up for Threadfest 2016 touches on traversed boundaries, not just aesthetic and disciplinary but across age, race, class, gender, sexuality and ability. Activities include an evening of electronic music by women; the return of the Out There Sounds For All The Family matinee; local-legendary Dada cabaret Cafe Despard’s memorial to singer and art college tutor Mary Johnston; loud queer night Out; an exhibition about migration and trade routes between India and the UK, and collaborations with Yorkshire Sound Women Network, learning disabled arts charities and more.

Acts include The Nightingales, Ela Orleans, No Border’s Ensemble, Commoners Choir, Ravioli Me Away, Daniel Wakeford, The Jelas, Ted Chippington, Bryony Pritchard, and more to be announced.

Venues

Threadfest is returning to a multi venue format in 2016 that will include Gallery II at University of Bradford, Bradford Playhouse, Delius Arts and Cultural Centre, Fuse Art Space and The 1 in 12 Club and with events in association with Bradford Pride and Bradford Literature Festival.

Bradford Threadfest is supported by The University of Bradford, Bradford City Council and sponsored by Northern Monk Brewery.

Bradford Threadfest is a joint effort by a collective of individuals, groups and organisations with support from University of Bradford and Bradford City Council.

The cross-city, multi-venue event will be bigger than ever, broadening its remit to offer a free taste of the city's underground and independent art, film, performance and theatre alongside music.
