Volt is a multicultural festival happening for a 24th edition in the middle of a forest from Wednesday 29th June until Saturday 2nd July 2016 with 15 stages and approximately 200 performances over a wide variety of musical styles: rock, pop, jazz, hip-hop, electro, world music, as well as DJs, and theatre shows.
Nearly 120,000 visitors descend on Sopron, the town hosting Volt which lies on the Austrian-Hungarian border, 60 km from Vienna, 200 km from Budapest, 90 km from Bratislava.
Line-up
Acts confirmed so far include Paramore, Ellie Goulding, Enter Shikari, Hernan Cattaneo, Imagine Dragons, Jess Glynne, Knife Party, Linkin Park, Of Mice and Men, Pendulum live, The Cult, Fatboy Slim, Years & Years, and more, with more to be announced.

Tickets
Tickets are on sale priced from at 115 euros for a 4 day pass, or 165 euros for a 5-day pass. Day tickets are from 23 to 69 euros.
Camping information
Gates open at 2pm on Thursday. You can look around and settle into the camping area and take part in a 'socialising' event and sleep in your own tent or wooden bungalow.
There are three places (mobile container units) on the campsite for showering where men and women bathe separately. There are also bio toilets (mobile toilets) and container toilets on the site, which are regularly cleaned and checked.
Getting there
Sopron is 210 km from Budapest, so you can be at the VOLT Festival in about 2.5 hours from the capital which has good European rail, road, and air links. There are frequent trains leaving from Budapest's Keleti Pályaudvar (Keleti Railway Station) and Déli Pályaudvar (Déli Railway Station) to Sopron, with dedicated trains running to the festival between Budapest and Sopron.
