THIS EVENT HAS BEEN CANCELLED.
Wakefield Rock n Wrestle Festival has been cancelled.
A statement from organisers says:
"It is with very heavy hearts and much regret that we announce the cancellation of Rock n Wrestle Festival 2012.
Putting the festival together in what is proving to be a very challenging year was more difficult than we anticipated and we have spent the last few weeks fighting hard to keep RnW2012 afloat. Unfortunately circumstances, including event hosts pulling out at the last minute, last minute band drop outs and pre-sales have dictated that we would be unable to run the festival to a standard advertised and that both the artists and that ticket holders would rightly expect.
Organisers Jim Cameron and Ian Brookes express deepest regrets to everyone and thank all the bands and staff, who worked so hard with us to try and pull off what has proven to be an impossible task and we know how much they share in our disappointment.
We also want to send a huge thanks to the RnW2012 fans who stuck by us and we are so sorry that we cant fulfil what we set out to do. RnW2012, a self funded festival was a huge success in it's first year in 2011 and it is a massive shame to pull the plug, but are faced with obstacles which are totally out of our control.
However on a happier note...
The Battle of the Bands Final is still taking place this Friday at the Snooty Fox, Wakefield with alternative prizes up for grabs for all 4 finalists (Olivine, King Nothing, Ethos Theory, Undafret with special guest slot from The Idol Dead). It would be really good to see you all in attendance, share a drink and cheer on the bands.
Many apologies... We are truly gutted!
Jim Cameron / Ian Brookes
Ticket holders will receive a full refund and more news of how to do this will be posted out soon."
